NORTHERN SITES

Since 1985, Sanexen has participated in and/or managed a number of projects in northern regions. Projects have been completed in Nunavut Territory and northern Quebec (for instance, in Nunavik). Sanexen has generally performed the work as a specialised contractor, responsible for such aspects as asbestos removal, demolition of buildings contaminated by PCBs, remediation of sites where waste barrels were buried, management and disposal of hazardous wastes at specialised centres, excavation and segregation of contaminated soils, biotreatment of soils, treatment of process waters and environmental monitoring.

Sanexen works in close collaboration with Inuit companies. Note that Sanexen was responsible for the general training of Inuit workers involved in the manipulation of contaminated soils and hazardous wastes on two major projects and certified twenty Inuit for asbestos removal in the course of that work.
