Waste classification (backfill, debris)

At Sanexen, we attach great importance to the correct identification and classification of wastes such as construction materials, foundry sands, clinker and slag, as well as the residues of industrial processes. Such wastes commonly result from the demolition of infrastructures or from industrial production and may often be found in poor quality backfill.

Rigorous quantification and classification of wastes during site characterisation are essential steps in the development of a remediation plan. They are used to identify appropriate waste management alternatives on which different intervention strategies can be based, often considerably reducing the remediation costs for a site.
